В Нью-Йорке назвали лучший автомобиль года

В Нью-Йорке объявили победителей конкурса World Car of the Year 2019. Награды в области автомобилестроения присудила группа из 84 профессиональных международных автомобильных журналистов из 24 стран мира. Авто, которые участвуют в борьбе за звание всемирного автомобиля года, должны продаваться не менее, чем в пяти странах и как минимум на двух континентах по состоянию на 1 января того года, в рамках которого проводится отбор.

Сразу три награды — «Автомобиль года», «Дизайн года» и «Экологичный автомобиль» завоевал Jaguar I-Pace.

Имя победителя озвучили в рамках автосалона в Нью-Йорке. Также были названы победители в других категориях. Так, лучшим представительским автомобилем стал Audi A7, спорткаром — McLaren 720S, лучшей машиной для города — Suzuki Jimny.

Напомним, конкурс проводится с 2004 года. Первые годы, подобно многим аналогичным конкурсам, победа присуждалась одному конкурсанту в качестве единой награды. Но начиная с 2006 года, премия была разделена по категориям, включая награду за производительность, экологию и автомобильный дизайн.
